| About Granada | Granada - Location | |
|
At the foot of the Sierra Nevada, close to the
Mediterranean Sea and at the heart of Andalusia, lies Granada,
a land of mild, warm summers with winters which are perfect
for practising snow sports in the breathtaking scenery of the highest
peaks in the Iberian Peninsula. Due to its strategic situation, Granada, the last Muslim stronghold, has, over the centuries, become a centre for cultural exchange between the North African, Western and Eastern worlds. With its picturesque villages and beautiful natural areas, the birthplace of the celebrated poet Federico García Lorca attracts thousands of visitors from the four corners of the world. The city of Granada is well connected by road: approximately two hour’s drive from Seville and one hour from Malaga. The province is linked with eastern Spain and the west of Andalusia via the A-92 while the N-323 connects it with Madrid and the southern half of the Peninsula. The airport, situated in Chauchina, is close to the nearby town of Santa Fe, a few kilometres from the Port of Motril.
